Female acts to rock Groovin’

Female acts to rock Groovin’ Promoters of the June 24 Groovin’ In The Park have gone for some woman power one month before the show at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York. They have recruited singers J C Lodge, Pam Hall and Marcia Aitken, who will make their first appearance on the annual event. Christopher Roberts of promoters Groovin’ Inc, told the Jamaica Observer that the move is strategic. “Ever since we booked Marcia Griffiths to celebrate her 50th anniversary with Judy Mowatt and others a few years ago, fans have requested that we book more female acts for Groovin’ In The Park. Their combination hit Jump, which was released last year on Major Lazer’s six-track EP, is featured in a hot new Bacardi TV ad that is in rotation in the US on NBC TV and other mainstream platforms.
